About Me
Hello, my name is Perla Alvarado and I specialize in Trauma, Christian Counseling, Stress, and Self-Esteem related issues. I am a bilingual therapist speaking both English and Spanish. I received a Master in Clinical Mental Health from Adams State University. I have worked in clinical settings for various years and have experience in residential 24-hour care, private practice, and hospital settings. I believe my various clinical experiences have allowed me to be better equipped to help my clients.
Treatment Approach
I utilize the following modalities in my practice: Trauma Focused, Christian Counseling, Multicultural, Culturally Sensitive, Family Systems, Strength-Based, EMDR, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Attachment-Based, Dialectical (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Person-Centered, and Emotionally Focused individual Therapy (EFIT).
Specialties
My specialties include trauma, parenting, Christian counseling, cultural/racial issues, anxiety, stress, and adolescents/teens. I do not provide Couples or Family Counseling.
How Therapy Looks
Sessions are 60 minutes and are offered in person at our Northglenn location or online for those located in Colorado who prefer an online platform. The first intake session is for us to get to know each other and see if we would be a good fit as well as how I can help you. In this initial session, I will ask many questions so we can start identifying goals for treatment. Follow-up sessions are scheduled on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis – depending on your needs. I will make a recommendation but you decide how often you'd like to meet.

About Me
Hello, my name is Perla Alvarado and I specialize in Trauma, Christian Counseling, Stress, and Self-Esteem related issues. I am a bilingual therapist speaking both English and Spanish. I received a Master in Clinical Mental Health from Adams State University. I believe my various clinical experiences have allowed me to be better equipped to help my clients.As a first-generation immigrant, I have first-hand knowledge in Latinx issues and immigration trauma. From a person-centered approach, my focus is to join alongside you, treat you as a person rather than just focusing on the issue or diagnosis. Together we will identify what your treatment goals are and discuss what is most important to you. Depending on your needs there are various methods I can use during your therapy session such EMDR therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and Dialectical Behavior therapy. You can expect that I will actively listen to your concerns and provide you with tools as you engage in a journey of healing and growth. My goal is that you will feel heard, validated, and empowered.I work with men and women, ages 12 and above. For those who desire to incorporate their Christian faith in their therapy, I am honored to blend techniques from psychology with Christian truth that aligns with your faith to address your emotional, relational, & spiritual needs using a model that deepens your dependence on & your trust in God for healing.

Pricing
My fees are $150 for the Intake Evaluation appointment and $135 for each 60-minute session. I also offer a reduced fee. However, these spots are limited and not guaranteed. For Group Training and Speaking Engagements, my fee starts at $150 per hour. Contact me for more details.

Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged the full rate of the session.
Important Notice to Uninsured and Self-Pay Clients
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate.

Cómo se ve la Terapia
Las sesiones son normalmente 60 minutos y las ofrezco en persona o virtualmente para las personas que viven en el estado de Colorado. La primera sesión será dedicada a conocernos y ver cómo le puedo ayudar. Le haré preguntas para poder empezar el proceso de identificar las metas de su tratamiento. Tiene la habilidad de agendar conmigo semanalmente, cada dos semanas o una vez al mes dependiendo de la necesidad identificada. Yo haré una recomendación basada en la gravedad y necesidad del tratamiento. Al fin, usted será la persona que decida qué tan frecuente agendará sus citas.
